Madrone Landscapes specializes in custom estate and residential landscaping, in addition to other landscaping projects, large and small. We design, construct and maintain some of the finest landscapes on the Central Coast.
Madrone is known throughout the county for quality commercial landscaping-We install and maintain a wide range of large commercial landscapes. Wineries are one of our specialties.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create landscapes that are beautiful, functional, resource efficient and environmentally sound, emphasizing the natural beauty of California’s Central Coast and promoting balance and harmony within it.
Our Beginning
Madrone Landscapes was founded in 1977 by Rick Mathews as a gardening service while he attended Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo studying Ornamental (Environmental) Horticulture.
Madrone Landscapes flourished and soon evolved into a full service landscape company offering design, consultation and installation of quality landscapes for the Central Coast.
Madrone Landscapes is well known along the Central Coast for its long history of unique landscape designs and environmental awareness.
Our Design Philosophy
Madrone Landscapes designs projects to maximize and reflect our relationship with the natural environment — a relationship that goes beyond proper design practice alone. In addition to designs that are functional and aesthetically pleasing we create low-impact, resource efficient designs that are minimally polluting, stable over time and in harmony with the local environment.
For the last 30 years, Madrone has been pleasing clients throughout the Central Coast. Beautiful, creative designs that flow naturally, functionally-that’s the idea!
