Stanwyck Residence

Approaching this residence, the plant-lined driveway leads to an entry island which deflects headlights and sets up an entry experience. The beautifully planted entry garden, with oaks, olives, melaleuca, and a colorful variety of drought-tolerant shrubs and grasses accentuate the craftsman details of the entry (designed and built by Luhr Construction). The backyard continues the theme, with the added elements of a straw bale seat-wall and deck. A paver patio completes the outdoor living area, and connects to the small lawn, with panoramic views of San Luis Obispo.

Tablas Creek Vineyards

The beauty of Adelaida stone is one of the signatures of Tablas Creek Vineyard. This smooth, undulating sandstone was once a sandy bottom to the ocean floor, and no stone better identifies this unique wine appellation. The stone is used both for form and function in this bright sunny garden. The sustainable roots of this winery are apparent in every aspect: their organic vine production, incredible wines, and the use of stone in the landscape – which was quarried from the vineyards themselves.

Myracle

Risen from the ashes, this home, and its surroundings were once only ruins from a devastating fire.  After the fire, a true rebirth occurred with the rebuilding of the house and gardens.  The purpose of this garden is simple:  Sit, talk, relax and renew the body and spirit.  Bold drifts of color and texture define the bulk of the garden, creating islands of Olive-shaded patios for meals, parties, or for just a private sunset meditation.  This landscape is reminiscent of an impressionist painting and its broad strokes are free-flowing, soft and peaceful.  (Winner of Best Xeriscape 2011, SLO County Chapter CLCA Awards).

Halter Ranch Vineyard

Halter Ranch Vineyard

Halter Ranch Vineyards

Set in a historic farmland setting, Halter Ranch Vineyard can be identified by its beautifully restored 1880s farmhouse, just off Adelaida Road.  The landscape blends the historic orchards and heritage oaks with plantings of eclectic Mediterranean and California Native drifts of color and texture.  The setting is elegant, relaxed and reminiscent of older, simpler times. The new tasting room reflects this same essence, with flecks of a fresh, more youthful appearance. Both areas are the perfect spot to bring a picnic, share a bottle of phenomenal wine, and spend the afternoon soaking up the Paso Robles sunshine.

Wine Country Residence

Every angle of view and facet of construction has been thoroughly analyzed and beautifully executed as individual pieces of artwork together to create a distinctive aesthetic all its own. Every line, radius, and proportion of the exquisite landscape is designed to connect, and transition between the built and natural environment. Rare and provocative plants lend color and texture to a palette that embodies feeling and purpose at every turn. From sculpture to hardscape, to plants, to finishes, every detail of this project is here for a reason. This form provides a true sense of place: dramatic and bold, yet positively harmonious. (Winner of the President’s Trophy for the 2009 “Best Residential Landscape in All Categories”, California Landscape Contractors Association Statewide competition).
