Dry Creek Flower Garden | San Luis Obispo, CA

Nestled against one of San Luis Obispo’s hillside open spaces, this new residence now offers a serene, naturalistic, and vibrant back landscape for its new owners. Two curving concrete walls establish a level lower area while carving out two distinct upper levels of planting, offering a variety of spaces for an array of native plantings. A new concrete patio with a rustic wood plank texture is connected by a sinuous pathway of Sweetwater flagstone, surrounded by a clean field of pea gravel. A swath of cobble swoops through the site from one corner to the other, interspersed with boulders and dotted with low plantings. Multiple custom trellis structures offer additional interest and support for sweetly flowering honeysuckle, mirrored across the patio by a custom green wall structure that is automatically irrigated and fertilized, tied in with the sitewide system.
