Templeton Estate

Templeton Estate | Templeton, CA

This setting offers beauty from every angle. Driving up to the residence, visitors are greeted with a series of dg paths and a grand display of native and Mediterranean plants. Some of the selections, like New Zealand Flax and Cape Rush, offer year-round interest, while the seasonal bloomers such as yarrow, create a profusion of color during their bloom period.

Walking around to the other side of the house, the backyard reveals its vast expanse. On one end, a natural stone firepit and seating area await the perfect winter night. Above that sits a series of steps leading to a gazebo that overlooks the vineyards. Across the way, a large wooden pergola shades the patio – offering relief from the hot summer sun. Nearby, surrounded by California native plants, sits a bubbling boulder fountain. All the elements together create a landscape perfectly suited for every season.

This incredible boutique tasting room, perched on a hilltop with breath-taking views of Paso Robles, features a permeable-paver patio (for the Oak’s sake!), dry-stack seat walls and a plant palette both low-maintenance and perfectly complementary to this outstanding hidden gem of a winery.

Relaxing Xeriscape

Relaxing Xeriscape

Relaxing Xeriscape | San Luis Obispo, CA

Risen from the ashes, this home and its surroundings were once only ruins from a devastating fire. After the fire, a true rebirth occurred with the rebuilding of the house and gardens. The purpose of this garden is simple: Sit, talk, relax and renew the body and spirit. Bold drifts of color and texture define the bulk of the garden, creating islands of Olive-shaded patios for meals, parties, or for just a private sunset meditation. This landscape is reminiscent of an impressionist painting and its broad strokes are free-flowing, soft, and peaceful.
